I last worked on this project almost two years ago. However, I'm back, but who knows for how long this time. As I started reading some of what I wrote before, I found myself hyper-fixating on it again. Expect some updates soon or maybe even another period of radio silence.
I'm doing this for fun, and I can't do much with this project because it's an AU of Havensake. I don't need anything to come out of it, though; it's just nice to have something quiet to pour my heart and soul into.I hope to finish this project soon. I think my goal for this year is to complete one of my many ongoing projects, and seeing this one done would make me happy, especially after years of work.

This project is being slightly reconfigured to fit the latest canon lore in Havensake. Mainly, this has to do with the Tribe's powers. I will be creating more/reworking the ones I already have to better fit the lore and the Tribe itself.

I neglected this project a little bit the past few months because my mental health took a really dangerous turn and I wasn’t prepared for it. Turns out I was being treated for a misdiagnosis and it caused my stability to severely deteriorate over time.
I’m okay now and am actually being medicated and treated for the right thing, and I already feel way better than I ever have!With that, I’ll be returning to this project and hopefully finishing the bigger parts of it soon!!

I'm back!
I had to go down to part time at my second job because working two full time jobs was killing me. That means that I have a lot more free time now, so I should be able to start doing more updates. This won't be as often as before because I'm still tired a lot from work, which leaves me not wanting to do anything. This project hasn't been abandoned though, so I guess all this update is, is really just a PSA for that.
Hopefully I can get some stuff done now.

Update @8:07am (20/02/2021): So I got the job! This means that I am going to be working two full time jobs during the week and I am going to have very little time for myself, which means I will have almost no time to work on this. I start in roughly 10 days so I'm going to try to finish the doc by then so there's something, since updates here are probably going to be very minimal for now.
Work on this page may cease for a little bit and updates will become less frequent within the following weeks. Due to the pandemic I’ve had to apply for a second job and if I get it I will be spending most days working from 7am to 10pm, and that doesn’t leave me a lot of room to work on this project. I will still continue updating when I can, but it may slow down for a while or cease altogether for a little bit. I love this project but if I get a second full time job on top of the one I already have I will be spreading myself very thin, which won't leave me a lot of time to pay as much attention to personal projects.

I had to take a bit of a mental break because the end of my 2020 was honestly horrible. I received some very bad news regarding both my Grandfathers and their health, and then my one Grandfather passed away yesterday so it's been a lot to deal with.Hopefully things start to get better soon but for now I just want to work on something that'll make me happy and take my mind off things.Expect more content soon.

I do a lot of work for this site on the weekends most of the time but don't want to overrun the edit log area with multiple log updates for minor changes. I have decided to beta test a new system to try and rectify this for convenience purposes, and also so I can better keep track of what I'm changing.
Weekend update logs will be posted to make note of minor changes done to the site when they happen. These may not be listed every week though and will be dependent upon my own personal work ethic and time. Thanks to my really good friend Jax-of-Anarchy, the Tribe has finally been given an official tattoo design!!!
The tattoo is something I struggled with for a very long time. I knew I wanted something to do with a third eye in concept because the symbol for mystic energy and mysticism is an eye, and I wanted to incorporate that. Unfortunately, I was hindered trying to come up with something because trying to design a tattoo that didn't look like something from another Tribe was difficult. I eventually went to Jax for advice because of how much it was frustrating me and told her what I had in mind, and being the fabulous person she is, she came back to me will a full design concept!If you're reading this Jax, thank you for all of your help. I owe you everything. You're truly amazing <3

The Secondary powers are almost complete!
It's taking a hot second to write out the good copy for everything here tbh. The original google doc is a total mess so trying to transfer the information over isn’t going as quickly as I’d hoped, especially since I’m being really picky about how I want this site to look and function. I'm pretty happy with the results so far though, despite the massive delays. Hopefully I’ll organize everything enough to just start doing massive lore dumps once I finish up with the powers.I’m gonna be working on fleshing out the Primary and Soulbound powers next!

Seriously considering changing the Tribe’s name to Soul Tribe.
The way it is, their powers don’t exactly have anything to do specifically with souls, but they do harness mystical energy for some of their powers, or just y’know, energy in general so it might make a little sense?I can’t change it to Energy Tribe or Mystic Tribe because yeah, that doesn’t exactly work, and neither does Life Tribe, but Silver-Soul still sounds better than Silver-Anima does.Idk I’m going to think about it a little bit.

I decided to move the information from the original document to a new one because it was too messy and stressed me out. I want to play around with the format design and make it neater, plus I chose a different colour scheme.

2020 is being a bitch of a year and I’m struggling with my depression, so I’ve decided to come back to this and do some more work on it since it makes me very happy.
Note to self: Build upon the powers more because after re-reading you’re kind of everywhere with them. They’re a little too clunky and random. Find some common ground and rehash. Consider bullet point ideas for now. Don’t worry about filling out exactly what they do until you have a better idea of what you want for them.

I finally figured out the abilities for the Tribe! I’ll still have to work on actually fleshing them out but I know more of what I want to do now.
The Animancy skills were changed to Mysticism, as it gave me a wider range to work with for what they can do with their powers (especially since relying solely on Animancy made them too akin to Earth Tribe when it came to what they could do with their powers and I don’t want that.)I also switched the abilities of the Primaries and Secondaries, so now Primaries have their abilities tied to Mysticism and Secondaries have their abilities tied to Augmentation. It made more sense to me to do this as the Tribe’s name and origins stem mainly from the ability to create matter and energy or augment power and energy already existing.I’ll still have to be careful how I do it though so it doesn’t end up being too much like ET, ST and VT powers. They’ll probably still have some ties to life and death and like, matter-altering stuff, but hopefully nothing super similar??Idk I’ll figure it out. Superpower wikis exist for a reason.

I decided so that I can stray from the in-group canon a little bit, that the Tribe will exist on an island off the main Tribeland coast. They won’t be super alien to the original concept, but I want them to have a slightly different build and customs than the usual Tribes for the group, and to do that it means they won’t have had contact/have much contact with the other Tribes.
I'm thinking they’re a little more cultish in their beliefs and customs?? Not like, in an evil way, just a super close-knit community.Because of how the new group is, they might just be from the cats who pre-existed in the new world, or like, a bunch of cats not from the original Tribes that came over? Or both??

Okay massive dump for the Tribe’s abilities that I will revisit and flesh out later for a powers section, but that I have to write down right now before I forget -- GO!
The Tribe's powers primarily focus on connecting with energy in its purest form, and the force of life all around us: the magic that makes life possible; our essence, our genetics, our "Inner Power."Fuck that sounds dumb now that I’ve written out.The cats won’t know what genetics are but their powers connect to and alter them somehow??While Primaries focus on harnessing the purest physical extent of power through the use of Augmentation, Secondaries can touch and manipulate the essence of Animacy and bend it to their will or rewrite it completely.(In the original brainstorming notes for this I referred to the Tribe as "Epic Tribe," but have decided it’s unsuitable if I wished to continue expanding this AU, so this concept will henceforth be known as the Anima Tribe AU from this moment on. I may eventually change the name if I find something else that I like. Not sure yet. If it ever becomes a public thing on my dA page I will accept name suggestions.)I don’t really like the name but it’s what I got right now so I’m gonna roll with it.I am compiling a list of the Tribe’s lifestyle, which is going to include their powers, ranks, and various other information. Still not sure how big this project will become or what the information I come up with will encompass, but I’m going to have to organize my notes soon because there’s a lot.I think it might be fascinating to pick at the actual lifestyle and go in-depth about Tribe customs. I want to lay out what makes Anima Tribe unique, even if it's just a fun little concept I do in my free time.

While there is some recognition of the Spirits in canon there isn't much related (or considerably mentioned) towards Spiritualism or even Religious aspects within the lives of the Tribecats, or how deeply they're affected by it.I’m going to continue fleshing everything out and see what I come up with.Note to self: Organize the doc.

I hate them all.

I’m starting to question my own sanity as I continue spending countless hours thinking and writing about magical fantasy cats. Plus, y'know, the whole two years of my life that I’ll never get back slaving over a concept that will likely never see the light of day.

Slowly figuring out what I want to do with their powers. Still not 100% sure?? Don’t want it to be too similar to Shadow Tribe and Earth Tribe, since what I’m thinking for them could easily overlap. Idk how the Admins do it, it's very difficult.
I was thinking of having their powers focus on like, life energy and connection. Maybe have a Hive Mind and like, inner self power kind of instead of naturey like ET?There's a lot I can do with Animancy but it's rough.

INTRODUCTION

Beyond the homeland of the Tribes, across the Crimson Sea, lies the island of Aerys. An idyllic and prosperous place to live, Aerys' warm-tempered, luscious environment is home to one of the most elusive and mysterious Tribes to exist—the cats of Anima Tribe.Seemingly untouched by the perils of Winter, the Tribe members live a prosperous life, though theirs is not unaffected by the dangers lurking within the rainforest where they live; as creatures known as the Grym, several predatory plants and animals populate the otherwise serene island. To maintain their life within an otherwise hostile territory, the cats here have had to become highly innovative in their day-to-day lives. As a result, they are highly creative and adaptive to their environment.Secluded from the Tribeland continent, the cats of Anima Tribe are as secretive about their lives as they are their powers, which are unknown to many of the mainland Tribes. Their gifts are rumoured to be mystical and rare, allowing them to access other plains of existence, link to one another in unique ways, and alter reality as perceived with the creation and manipulation of energy, granting each member a remarkable connection to the beauty and understanding of existence.Together, they live in a tightly knit community, where the whims and perils of the mainland bear little weight on the Anima cats' lives, and all bonds to the Tribelands are stringent and carefully watched over to ensure their own remain protected.

I: Danger Sense

The Primary gains an intuitive sixth sense meant to keep them safe from harm. Passively, this ability allows the user to sense disruptions in the energy around them. They become conscious of any potential immediate danger to their well-being, increasing their chances of evading it. As proficiency with this ability grows, the Primary's sense will become more acute, allowing them to sense things like when someone nearby is speaking negatively about them. Others may even be able to discern a precognitive judgement of character toward someone they barely know (you perceive someone/something as "bad," but you don't know why.) Expert users with this ability develop a more advanced danger sense and may even manage to accomplish a feat such as sensing impending death to avoid it. Their newfound intuition usually only regards their own welfare. Still, if used actively, they become hyper-aware of any nearing or severe danger, including that occurring within a more widespread surrounding (sensing an ally in peril nearby or the beginnings of a wildfire in the distance.)


II: A Helping Hand

As they develop a deeper understanding of kinetic energy and how it's produced and manipulated, the user can harness the ability to create energy of their own and utilize it to their advantage. The Primary can now create two dexterous hands of their own design from shimmering, translucent energy that will appear before them floating in the air. The hands can be used to manipulate objects, stow or retrieve items, open unlocked doors and containers, or use, build and create various parts or structures that the creator would otherwise struggle to make on their own.Note: The hands together can lift or push anything that weighs up to double the primary's weight, with each individual hand able to lift or move anything equal to the primary's weight. The hands must always remain within a visible radius of their creator, or they disappear.In a combative setting, the hands can be used in one of the following ways:

ActionDescription
AttackThe hands strike a single creature or object within range, dealing an amount of damage equal to the primary's melee attack. Each hand can alternatively strike opposing targets, with the individual hands dealing an amount of damage equal to half the primary's melee attack.
BlockThe hands interpose themselves between the primary and their attacker until given a different command. If the creature makes an attack against them, the hands can be used to block the incoming attack, halving the total damage taken. The hands can also be applied to minimize the impact of falling hazards like rocks.
GrappleThe hands attempt to grapple a creature no bigger than twice the size of the primary. If the hands succeed, the primary can have them attempt to crush the target, dealing an amount of damage equal to the user's melee attack.
MoveThe hands attempt to pick up or push an object or creature of the primary's choice, whose weight does not exceed a total equal to double the primary's weight. If they succeed, the hands begin to lift or push the target in any direction the user chooses.

III: Mystic Weave

The user can create, shape and manipulate threads of energy to repair and return objects to their optimal state, regardless of how long it has been broken or how damaged it was. Repair doesn't include alterations made to the original product like text. If a flame-damaged book is repaired, for example, this ability will restore the pages to their original state, void of any script not already visible to the primary. The capability and time it takes for an individual to repair an object will depend entirely on their skill and experience alone. Primaries may occasionally fail to restore an item due to its sheer complexity or size. The more experienced a Primary is, the more they'll be able to accomplish.Note: This ability can be used to offer only minor healing to allies, as repairing living tissue is more complicated than restoring something inanimate. More experienced users may have less difficulty applying this ability to heal others, but extensive damage (broken bones, deadly wounds or infections etc.) will remain impossible to fix.


IV: Seal The Deal

A gleaming mark of energy, visible only to the Primary who creates it, appears in the form of a seal on a specified target. While the target is marked, the unique energy signature acts as a homing beacon, allowing the creator a general sense of the target's whereabouts at all times for as long as their powers remain active. When attached to another being, the seal allows the creator to read the target's energy signature and hone in their senses on it, boosting any physical attacks the user makes against it. The more proficient a Primary is with this ability, the better they can focus their senses, and the more likely they are to hit the target with an attack.

(Rough) insert various choking noises


VI: Armed And Dangerous

(Rough) The user can create items, weapons, tools, objects etc., that they have already seen or can imagine out of pure energy. The user can use them for as long as their powers remain active. This can include ammo for a bowstring weapon, energy swords, binds etc. Can't be used to create force fields.


VII: Ethereal Wright

(Rough) The user can create a wall, platform, shield, barrier, dome or a field formed from energy to protect themselves from danger or keep a foe from reaching them or a specific area. With enough force/damage a field can be broken and doesn't guarantee the negation of damage. Powerful users can create temporary armor or use these fields to catch a falling target, throw fields to cause damage, or create an impenetrable field for as long as their powers are active.


VIII: Revitalizing Ward

(Rough)Temporary hit points? Wards the soul so when a creature dies they drop to one hit point instead? Idk???


IX: Pneumatic Scrying

(Rough) User can essentially upload, download, alter, copy and transfer the memories of themselves or others. Prominent users can overload the mind with this and cause damage or death? Kind of like frying a computer? Memories stored can be accessed later by the user. When using this ability on another target they are aware someone is messing with their mind. Some users can implant memories into objects or the subconscious which may be accessed when a specific trigger is met.


X: What’s Yours Is Mine

(Rough) Kind of like the Secondary's Stronger Together power but isn't as powerful. When a user links themselves to another, damage or healing taken by one is instead split between the two and attacks do slightly more damage. While in this state they are less likely to contract mental and physical conditions and will have a temporary telepathic link between them.


XI: Remnants Of The Fallen

(Rough) The user can tap into the latent memories that remain behind from the trace remnants of the body's former soul. The corpse has to have died at some point within the last 10 days for this spell to work and can't have been Undead. While this ability is active you enter into a trance-like state which can't be ended willingly and will be considered vulnerable while using this power. For the next ten minutes, you endure the final moments of the creature's life perfectly as if they had been your own, and the trance ends upon the moment of the creature's dying breath. While in this state, you recount the same physical and emotional sensations as the creature and can understand its decisions in a limited manner, but you are unable to read its mind. More powerful users can use this on older bodies/see more? If older maybe decayed memories - feelings.Note: If an outside effect manages to tear you out of this trance before it ends on its own, you are pulled from the effects prematurely you will be psychically injured or stunned.


XII: Ergokinetic Familiar

(Rough) The user is able to create beings made of pure energy (4 small, 2 medium, 1 large?) They can grant the beings varying levels of independence and existence, with the creature fading once they are done with them. The creature can be used as a beast of burden or as a form of attack. Master users have the ability to create a permanent minor being (rabbit, bird, ferret etc.) to keep as a companion, but only one permanent being can exist at a time.


XIII: Soulrend

(Rough) The user can cause severe damage to a target's own life-force energy by manipulating and warping it, potentially even ripping their life energy, or soul, from their body in the process. If a soul is evicted the body becomes vulnerable and if one or the other is destroyed while in this state the target is killed.


XIV: Feebleform

(Rough) You sap away the energy from the physical form of a creature, leaving them incredibly weakened or potentially paralyzed? May effect the health or arcane points of the creature while boosting your own?


XV: Phantasmal Exoskeleton

(Rough) The user can create an exoskeleton made of pure energy in the form of a large beast/mythological creature of their choice of which they can control from within as if it were their actual body. While in this form their attacks do more damage, damage against is halved, maybe they get temporary hit points or when someone attacks them they take damage? The longer they stay within the construct/the more often they use it within a certain amount of time, the less control they will have over it. Lmao think like, the Nine Titans from AOT xD

SECONDARY

Secondary abilities focus on the physical applications of energy through the augmentation, enhancement, and transference of pre-existing power, emotions and concepts. Secondary users are gifted with the unique ability to absorb and metabolize energy (kinetic, life-force, sound, elemental etc.) and use it to boost their own attacks, powers and physical attributes, as well as convert stored energy into powerful force attacks.Note: Secondaries can’t create something from nothing like Primary users can, they simply increase, transfer and upgrade what already exists.
